What's to love about Cumbria.

The scenery

Based within the heart of Cumbria is the Lake District, distinctly known as one of the most beautiful regions of the UK. The Lake District is filled with a range of mountain paths, ancient castles, historic locations and lakeside spots – so whether you wish to spend your spare days exploring the area, or enjoying a simple morning stroll, this could be the perfect place to escape the hustle of city life.

There’s so much to discover, but if you’re unsure where to start you can find Trip Advisor’s ‘Top 5 things to do in Cumbria’ here.

The food

If you’re on the lookout for a hearty bit of pub grub then you’ll find it here with little pubs and cafes dotted around each corner of Cumbria’s picturesque villages. If a pub isn’t your preference then how about an ice cream as you take a stroll along the lakeside? Or a visit to one of Cumbria’s seven Michelin Star restaurants?

The people

Cumbrians have a reputation for being friendly, making this the perfect environment if you’re new to the area. As Emma Smith, Practice Manager at our Grange Over Sands practice said:

“Cumbrians are the friendliest bunch you’ll ever meet, they will do anything and everything they possibly can for anyone, and not forgetting the important cuppa you’ll always be offered.”

Not only this, but most places are pet-friendly too. With the Lake district being incredibly popular with dog walkers, it’ll be hard to find a pub or cafe that won’t accept them.

The attractions

If walking or hiking isn’t your thing then worry not, Cumbria offers a range of attractions you can visit instead. From watersports, cinemas and the aquariums there’s so much to see.
