After months of planning the NHS 75 birthday celebrations took place on the 5 July. Up and down the country Trusts were marking the day to rejoice and recognise the amazing work of our NHS. It was a busy day at the Trust with teams marking the day in their own special way.
Here is a round-up of all the events that took place across West London.
The NHS Big Teas
Trust Headquarters, Armstrong Way - Asian Big Tea
Over 50 staff joined the celebrations at Armstrong Way for a feast of homemade Asian treats, a tombola, quiz and of course plenty of cake!
There was a special guest - henna artist Amy, who decorated the hands of staff in henna with beautiful patterns. Colleagues then gathered round for the West London birthday special all staff meeting with Chief Executive Carolyn Regan, CBE.
A special thanks to Mahmouda and Meena from the finance team for all their efforts to organise the celebrations at Armstrong Way.
Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Team away day Chelsea FC
The CAMHS away day kicked off with a welcome speech by Carolyn Regan CBE, CEO and Dr Christopher Hilton thanking all staff for their contributions to the Trust. This was followed by a listening event where all staff shared their feedback about the Trust and discussed future goals. Followed by team building activities, service users also took part in the celebrations with a cake cutting ceremony.
The day ended with the CAMHS Awards celebrating the service and achievements of staff along with a Mexican wave in the Chelsea Football Club stands.
Clayponds hospital
Clayponds Hospital welcomed a very special visitor for its NHS 75 Birthday celebrations. The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Hitesh Tailor, was given a tour of the hospital and enjoyed tea and cake with staff.
As well as the NHS’ birthday it was also the Mayor’s birthday, so staff were pleased to celebrate with him. He praised the hard work and dedication of staff and even got a chance to test some of the gym equipment and take part in some dancing.
Well done to our OCS catering partners who also hosted a soup kitchen for some rough sleepers.
It was great to see so many staff join in the spirit of the NHS on the day.

Under 11s Big Tea poster school competition
Marlborough Primary School, Isleworth - 1st Prize
Earlier in the year local schools in Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham were invited to participate in a NHS Big Tea poster competition. Children were asked to design a NHS Big Tea poster inviting people to join the Big Tea celebrations. The competition was hugely popular across the schools, all of the children worked on their posters in their own time and put a lot of thought, creativity and skill into creating some fantastic pieces of work. Entries were received from Marlborough Primary school, Featherstone Primary school, Viking Primary school, Oakhill academy and Reach Academy, Feltham. Judging was very tough and after much deliberation a winning entry was selected. The children were very pleased to receive their prizes and a special thank you to Starbucks for their prize donation of reusable cups.
