Nefyn Bay

One of Nefyn’s main attractions is the long sweeping sheltered sandy beach, which offers safe bathing, boating, water sports and excellent walks across the beach to the picturesque village of Porth Dinllaen and Lifeboat Bay. It is a popular family seaside holiday destination for those seeking an alternative to the busier resort of Abersoch.

Whistling Sands (Porth Oer)

This small, National Trust beach, backed by steep grassy cliffs, is on the Llŷn Heritage Coast. Its famous nickname comes from the sound that the sand makes when walked over, a very unique experience and one of only 2 places in Europe where this occurs. The views from the sands are stunning and watersports include diving, sailing and surfing. In the summer months the beach has a shop and toilets.

Abersoch Beach

Probably the most popular beach in the area, Abersoch beach occupies a fantastic sheltered position making it ideal for swimming and watersports. It offers stunning views of both the mountains of West Wales and St Tudwal’s Islands. Beach huts can be rented and there’s also a selection of beach cafes, shops and of course parking and toilets.
