The East Sussex town of Wadhurst has been named the best place to live in the UK for 2023 by The Sunday Times, heading a list of 72 locations. The judges praised the market town for its medieval houses, beautiful scenery and brilliantly useful high street, concluding that it offers “pretty much everything needed for modern life in miniature”.
With a population of less than 5,000, Wadhurst is by far the smallest overall winner in the 11-year history of the Best Places to Live guide.
