Up to £110,000 of Funding for Ledbury

Ledbury Town Council have been made aware of £110,000 of funding which is available to them as part of a government scheme to kick start the return to the high street as lockdown restrictions ease. It is hoped that it will help council's boost tourism, improve green spaces and provide safer options for the public's safe return to the high street.

The funding is available from two funding streams - a Welcome Back Fund £20,000 and Great Places to Visit Projects £90,000 and Ledbury Town Council would like to hear from residents on how they would like to see money spent. Below are a number of options for you to consider and we would like you to tell us your top three priorities from the list below and any ideas you may wish to share.

LTC will review the outcome of this poll and cost out the top choices and present these to Herefordshire Council for consideration of funding through these two funding opportunities.

Improved town centre facilities – to assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the toilets in Bye Street and Church Lane

Maintenance of play equipment and skate park at recreation ground

Set up a new Tourism Information Centre in the council offices or Market House

Create a "Trim Trail" and amenity green space maintenance and enhancement on Riverside Walk

To provide winter hanging baskets/flower displays around town (could include small tree tubs in High Street and Homened)

Develop a "Secret Ledbury" trail of courtyard shops and businesses, to include upholsters, crafts and trades

To provide support for the development of the Charter Market, to include free parking on market days for 6 months

To work with Churches, hospitality and historic centres to offer free toilet facilities

Major pre-emptive woodland tree planting and bio-diversity project

To provide additional seating around the town similar to that under the Market House

To provide a bus shelter at the bus stop at Tesco's

Better access and facilities in the Market House

Purchase of Gazebo's for use on market days and events/festivals - also to be available to voluntary groups
