Online surgery with your Federation

4 June 2021

Four current Derbyshire branch representatives will be online later this month to answer members’ queries about the forthcoming Federation elections.

Branch chair Tony Wetton, secretary Kirsty Bunn and Branch Board members Paul Russell and Bekki Smith, who is one of the branch equality leads, will seek to encourage members interested in supporting colleagues to put themselves for the role.

They will also answer questions on other issues of concern to members during the session which is being held from 11.30am until 1.30pm on 22 June.

“Being a Federation rep can be challenging at times because you are often helping a colleague through a difficult period in their life for one reason or another but it is because of this that it can also be incredibly rewarding. Just knowing you have made a difference to someone, got them through a tough time or pointed them in the right direction makes it all worthwhile,” says Kirsty.

“If you are interested in perhaps standing in the elections, please attend the online session so you can find out more and discover the answers to any questions you might have.

“Full training is given to those who are elected and the skills you learn can be applied not just in your Federation work but also in your Force role.”

Connect will host the online surgery and will combine this with slido for questions to be posed of the serving Fed representatives. Questions will need to be submitted before the event with answers then provided during the session.

Further details will be announced soon.
