Improve the resilience of your GP practices
With national support now limited, integrated care boards need to seek help for their practices elsewhere. We have supported thousands of vulnerable practices and embedded national change programmes. Our team is used to working in general practice, they use established diagnostic tools and/or support that is personalised to the practice. Contact enquiries@pcc-cic.org.uk to find out more.
Hands on support
PCC provides expert consultancy support when its needed. We are currently working with integrated care boards to:
- Manage primary care premises matters
- Undertake general practice financial reviews
- Carry out premises space utilisation reviews for practices
- Ensure robust business continuity plans are in place across primary care networks
Contact enquiries@pcc-cic.org.uk and let us know the help you need.
A strategic approach to primary care
Integrated care boards (ICBs) should have their primary care strategies in place – covering all four contractor areas. They need developing with the contractor groups and consider collaborative working and interfaces within and beyond primary care. Although the strategy needs to be inclusive of all areas, those that are involved in shaping the strategy may vary for different clinical pathways. One current focus and area to address is access to primary medical care.
Annual contracts
PCC helps organisations reduce costs and increase efficiency through our annual contract packages with many clients renewing their contracts year after year. Support includes commissioner helpdesks to access primary care expertise and access to events, e-learning and workshops at reduced rates.
Our Support
Supporting GP practice
The focus on general practice is often centred around access, but to provide good access, in our experience, there are three underlying, and linked, success factors.
- Workforce
- Finance
- Premises

Personalised training for practices and primary care networks
PCC is supporting practices and primary care networks (PCNs) by designing and delivering bespoke training and development programmes. Examples of what we have delivered in the past few months include co-designing a PCN development programme in London, running four cohorts for 80 clinical directors and managers including leadership, governance, finance and workforce. In the North West, we provided a series of facilitated sessions exploring effective population health management, a team leaders development programme and director level executive coaching. Read more, or contact enquiries@pcc-cic.org.uk for more information.
Integrated care boards value PCC
The majority of integrated care boards (ICBs) have contracts with PCC. Many have annual contract packages to access our contracting helpdesks to provide confidence and reassurance in decision making. Others access our workshops, e-learning or our bespoke, trusted support.
“PCC has access to a wider range of resources than we could locate ourselves, which adds an additional layer of expertise that we would struggle to mirror. From a project perspective, we have utilised PCC for a variety of service needs and have always been extremely happy with the outputs, which has helped us to shape services for the better.”
