Local support

If you’re struggling to make ends meet, your local Council offers a range of support for people experiencing financial hardship. For example, you may be eligible for Housing benefit, a discount on your Council Tax, or a one-off grant if you need help to pay for unexpected costs for essentials. If you are in severe financial hardship, your Council may be able to refer you to a food bank or other services that can help you in an emergency.

Your local advice centre can help you if you need support with your applications for benefits, or to understand what benefits you may be entitled to.

Use the search tools below to find local support available from your Council or your local advice centre.
