At Draken Europe, we're excited today to announce the formal signing of a contract with LOM PRAHA s.p., the Czech Republic’s state-owned aviation maintenance and services provider, which will see the company deliver high-quality simulator training to Draken’s fast jet pilots at its facilities on the Czech Air Force’s Čáslav Air Base. With the signing of this contract, Draken Europe becomes the first-ever commercial customer to gain access to LOM PRAHA’s L-159 simulator, with the Aero Vodochody Aerospace L-159E jet being the platform selected by Draken to support the Royal Air Force (RAF)'s new Interim Red Air Aggressor Training Service (IRAATS). “We are delighted to be working closely with LOM PRAHA. The high-quality simulator training they will give our pilots will greatly support us as we provide a first-of-kind “Red Air” service to the RAF,” commented Paul Armstrong ACIS, Draken’s CEO, adding “Working with LOM PRAHA further cements significant international co-operation between the UK and the Czech Republic. Shortly we will see Draken’s UK pilots train in the Czech Republic in support of a UK contract tailored to enhance the capabilities of British forces. At a time of geopolitical instability in Europe, such collaboration has never been more important.” Jiří Protiva, CEO at LOM PRAHA, echoed these sentiments, saying: “In common with Draken, we place great emphasis on the skills of our people. We use modern interactive teaching methods, state of the art simulators and real flights in our own fleet - all taught and supervised by professional employees, who are all former Air Force veterans with extensive experience. We go beyond teaching pilots to fly; all the necessary skills and experiences our instructors have learned in their vast careers in aviation are passed on to students during all phases of the training process. We are proud to share that valuable knowledge to contribute to the defence of the UK and the NATO Alliance.” Draken Europe’s eight-strong fleet of L-159E aircraft is shortly to be in service as the “enemy”, flying against UK armed forces personnel as part of the Royal Air Force’s recently signed Interim Red Air Aggressor Training Service contract. The service is the first of its kind in the UK and represents the delivery of an all-new training capability for the RAF. #aviation #Draken #DrakenEurope #NATO #electronicwarfare #militarytraining #RedAir #aircraft #jets #fastjets #avgeeks #aviationdaily #ewtraining #adversaryair #agileair #success #mission #preparetoprevail

This is really terrific news, it continues to put in place the building blocks to enable high end Operational Readiness Training for the RAF and our allies. Thanks to the LOM PRAHA team for working this with us.
