During yesterday’s Day of Action in Bournemouth town tentre, Economic Development Officer, Rachel Doe, spoke about some of the challenges facing town centres nationally and how our team work with businesses across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
Can't see how the situation can be improved until retail rents and this rates are reduced. The job of BCP is surely to get stakeholders together and devise a strategic overall plan - for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole town centres. The Council can provide a framework in which the private sector and land owners can deliver.
The BCP's economic development team are great and helped us ,last year, create our apps MVP offering. Would definitely recommend having a talk with them and using all the resources they provide!
So why are you not going through the BID teams, and what about the Air Show and Red arrows that brought in millions
I'm now craving a trip to the new Bigwigs Bakery!
What happened to the £20 million levelling up money for the seafront?

3moBCP could help if they insisted their staff came to the office each day. We have large council buildings in the centre of the town under utilised as most are working more "efficiently" at home. If the council don't want to turn up to the office, redevelop these building's so that they either provide accommodation or work space for real jobs. Not having people using these buildings is not only a complete waste of taxpayers money, its a massive hit to spending in the town centre.
