Covid-19 vaccination with Johnson & Johnson In Constantza is possible the crewmembers of the vessels calling at the port to be vaccinated for Covid-19 with the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine. This is offered by the Romanian state free of any charge to all seaman and is valid as long as the vaccine is available. Believe that this kind of single dose vaccination is very convenient for crewmembers currently serving onboard vessels. No registration or other arrangements are needed, just the agent of the vessel must arrange shore passes and following notification to the medical center to bring the seamen for vaccination together with their passports and seamen books. A certificate following the vaccination is provided to each seaman. The vaccination is done at the main vaccination center of Constantza, (Pavilionul Expozițional Constanța). Already almost all crewmembers of one vessel were vaccinated today, 3rd June and we hope further crewmembers will follow, thank to this amazing assistance of the Romanian State. #seamen #covid19 #vaccination #Romania #Constantza #Kalimbassierismaritime

Traveling for a special case to Iasi, although I was before in this beautiful city which is not a symbol only for the Romanian history but also for the recent Greek history: in this city was living Alexandros Ypsilantis, the Greek hero who sparked the revolution for Independence. Walking around the city center, there is a contrast between modern sculptures and past architecture styles of the buildings. All main streets of Iasi lead back to the Palace of Culture which is one of the biggest buildings in the country. While admiring the masterpiece and iconic building of Palace of Culture, I was impressed by the appearance of the local police riding beautiful horses. I heard many people speaking Greek language, Iasi being known as one of the most important education and research centres of the country. The Romanian philosopher Mihai Sora died today at the age of 106. In recent years, despite his advanced age, at minus 15 degrees Celsius, he protested on the streets of Bucharest against the harmful changes that were brought to the laws of justice and in favour of the independence of judges in Romania. Mihai Sora, thank you for being a benchmark for the principles of the rule of law! Requiescat in pace!

Just before the Christmas I had another trip along Romania, from the South East corner of Constantza to the North West end of Oradea and back. What a trip passing Ploiesti, Prahova Valley, Brasov, Targu Mures, Sibiu, Olt Valley with all the cities and villages on their Christmas dresses, one competing the other. The winter didn’t come yet, just the mountains were covered with some snow up at 2,000 meters and higher. #travel #Romania #surveys #lovemyjob
