Today we swapped our walking boots and waterproofs for some smarter attire as we headed into London for the Aviva #BrokerACF Awards. Going up on stage to collect a surprise £10,000 Community Fund Award was a proud moment and we're extremely grateful to our corporate partners Higos Insurance Services for nominating us. The programmes we run are completely free of charge to the young people we work with; this award will ensure more 11-15 year olds have the opportunity to build resilience through the outdoors. The ceremony was a heart-warming celebration of community and it was really special to share the experience with so many other charities doing amazing work. A massive thank you to everybody involved!

These rules prohibit "disqualified persons" from engaging in contain types of transactions with private foundations, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts. The self-dealing rules are complex and not intuitive, and these rules can apply in unexpected situations, including situations where there is "indirect" self-dealing. It is incumbent upon planned giving professionals to understand who is classified as a disqualified person and the types of transactions that can trigger the self-dealing prohibitions because the penalties for violating the self-dealing prohibitions can be severe. This presentation will provide planned giving professionals with essential information on how the self-dealing rules apply and how to assist donors in avoiding the self-dealing prohibitions.
