This month we had the honor to attend the United Nations end-of-year reception at Ledra Palace in the UN Buffer Zone in Nicosia 🇺🇳 invited by UN Secretary General’s Special Representative, Mr. Colin Stewart, reflecting on this year’s peace efforts. What an honor to present my International Olympic Committee – IOC Young Leaders Project WINDS OF CHANGE Cyprus at the 🌍 World Sailing Annual Conference 2023 in📍Malaga, during the Inclusive Sport Forum. 🙌 The Forum was attended by the World Sailing President Quanhai Li, CEO David Graham the Executive Board, the Athlete Commission, and major stakeholders in the sport of sailing. ⛵️🌍 The project presentation, was followed by the first public showcasing of our “Winds of Change” Documentary Film trailer 🎥 🎬 The Forum focused on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Sailing, highlighting the numerous activities undertaken to make the world of sailing a place where everyone can feel welcome, safe and equal. International Olympic Committee – IOC Athletes Forum 2023 #IAF2023 Our founder and Olympian Sophia Papamichalopoulos OLY was invited to join this year’s International Athletes Forum as a panelist to speak about her initiative WINDS OF CHANGE Cyprus under the motto “Athletes Giving Back” and #Olympism365. More than 400 Olympians and athlete representatives from all over the world attended the forum this year in the Olympic Capital. WINDS OF CHANGE Cyprus was one of five examples that were presented on stage of how athletes are giving back to their communities and using sport as a force for good.
