About us

ConTrA, the Contentious Trusts Association, was founded in 2015 by Jessica Henson and Simon Goldring. It runs informative and social events, covering the most pertinent and current issues affecting contentious trust practices - particularly from an associate/junior counsel's perspective. ConTrA's objective is to bring together up-and-coming solicitors and counsel specialising in trust disputes to forge networks, discuss experiences and share knowledge. The purpose of this page is to keep everyone informed about upcoming ConTrA events and for members to share relevant content, such as articles they have written. To become a member of ConTrA, you must apply by completing the membership form on our website (see below). The admission of a member is at the discretion of the Committee. Generally, members must be practising lawyers (whether solicitors, barristers or other) who operate in the contentious trusts and estates field of practice and cannot have been a partner or KC for more than two years at the point of applying to become a member. Only members of ConTrA will get added to the email mailing list and invited to events. The ConTrA Committee consists of: - Ashleigh Carr (co-chair), Forsters - James Lister (co-chair), Stevens & Bolton - Natasha Holme (social media coordinator), Mishcon de Reya - Luke Richardson (communications and mailings coordinator), Baker McKenzie - Kate Salter (honorary secretary), Kingsley Napley - Rose Fetherstonhaugh (memberships coordinator), 5 Stone Buildings - Charlotte Henshall (events coordinator), Payne Hicks Beach - Emilly Chalk (treasurer), Fladgate This page is run by Natasha Holme.
