Another new year, they seem to come around so fast. We hope that all of our clients and friends have enjoyed a good break and are looking forward with optimism and energy to the new year. Lots of challenges economically and geopolitically but new opportunities too! As summer comes to a close and we step into autumn, we also see the start of the second half of the financial year for many of our clients. So it is a good time to be looking and planning ahead. Talking to clients, there is generally a mood of cautious optimism, notwithstanding the unstable planning environment. In this respect, this year’s scare story (or opportunity, depending on your perspective) is AI. Will it lead to the demise of established business models, drive massive redundancies, re-write the business rule book? Big questions. Our perspective as always is that good businesses and good employers will continue to succeed, create value and contribute to a fulfilling life for employees if they are well led.
