Our visit to Islamabad, Pakistan was nothing short of mesmerizing! Led by our Group CEO, Adlan Tajudin, the EDOTCO delegation embarked on a journey to #ShapingFutureConnectivity in Pakistan. EDOTCO Group recently held its Raya Open House at the Sentul Depot in Kuala Lumpur, which was a resounding success. The event was graced by over 1,800 attendees, leaving a lasting impression of joy and unity among the EDOTCO Champions. The gathering was marked by a sense of gratitude for the presence of each participant, contributing to the event's unforgettable atmosphere. The theme "Binding Affection, Across Decade" set the tone for a celebration that intertwined the threads of connection and reminiscence. Adlan Tajudin, the Group Chief Executive Officer, delivered an emotive welcome address that set the stage for the festivities. In the spirit of the season, the event also focused on community outreach, with single mothers from Lembah Pantai receiving Raya packets from esteemed figures such as YBhg Dato Dr. Nik Ramlah Nik Mahmood, the Chairman, Abdullah Izhar Mohamed Yusof, Political Secretary of the Minister of Communications, and Noreen Sabrina Mohd Noor, Director of Group Brand Communications. The venue was transformed to reflect the "Old Malaya" theme, replete with a pre-colonial atmosphere and traditional stalls that enriched the celebratory experience. Guests were treated to a nostalgic journey, complete with trishaw rides, classic games, and an array of traditional culinary delights. A standout feature of the event was the enthralling Wayang Kulit performance, which served as a premiere showcase. This traditional shadow puppet play was not merely entertainment; it was a narrative that traced the evolution of telecommunication technologies. Through the artistry of Wayang Kulit, the story of Maharaja Sri Rama and Puteri Siti Dewi was brought to life, illustrating their love and the challenges they faced due to a curse that prevented them from being together. The tale unfolded with the couple using various forms of communication to stay connected, from magical doves to telegraphs, and eventually to modern digital technology. This performance underscored the vital role of communication in bridging distances and fostering connections, resonating with EDOTCO's commitment to #ShapingFutureConnectivity. 150 Orang Asli villagers in Kampung Sg Kelit, Raub, are now fully connected to the internet, thanks to EDOTCO Malaysia and Zeta IOS Sdn Bhd! With LEO satellite infrastructure, they can now use the internet as a valuable resource for education and income generation. This groundbreaking initiative is revolutionizing rural connectivity and fostering digital inclusion and development.
