Lesleyann is an Associate in the Licensing & Gambling team.

Lesleyann has been working in the legal sector for several years having started her career as a paralegal after completing her Law Degree with Honours.

Experienced in the licensing and gambling sector, Lesleyann has acted for many types of operators (large and small) in licensing, gambling and entertainment matters. She has also worked in the Dispute Resolution team advising on matters including fast track court applications, debt recovery and property and contractual disputes.

Lesleyann has worked for many independent operators and large restaurant and pub chains in respect of providing licensing advice and has undertaken due diligence work on large scale pub group acquisitions. She has also worked alongside senior Partners and Barristers in various Licensing and Gambling Appeals in the Magistrates Court.

Clients include independent venues, large pub companies, restaurant chains, nightclubs, sexual entertainment venues and social clubs.  Lesleyann also works for various gambling operators across the country.  She carries out work for a large leisure company to assist them with their licensing requirements at many popular theme parks across the UK.

Lesleyann provides licensing advice to many UK operators including DHP Family, HB Leisure, Notts County Football Club and Nottingham Trent Students Union.   

Recent examples of how Lesleyann has supported her clients include:

  • acting for a large company which provides family entertainment centres within popular theme parks across the UK;
  • advising on an Appeal against a local authority’s decision to not grant an application for an adult gaming centre Premises Licence in one of the London boroughs;
  • advising on a successful Appeal against a Noise Abatement Notice for a large entertainment and conference venue within a residential area of a city centre; and
  • assisting one of the largest UK operators of bingo premises with their licensing requirements for new acquisitions.
