Become a KGH Member

As a Foundation Trust we invite the public to join and support us by becoming Members of the Trust. As a member you can choose to be involved in as much or as little as you like.

Membership is free and offers you the opportunity to become more involved in the activities of KGH. Members are sometimes asked for their feedback on specific issues and service developments.

Most importantly, our Members are eligible to vote in our Council of Governors elections.
Here are some of the many benefits to becoming a member of the Trust:
  • As a member you’ll be helping KGH. The Trust Board depends on the membership to keep them in touch with what’s needed at the hospital and how best to improve services.
  • Being a voice of your community, telling us about the needs and expectations of your local community.
  • Help to make a difference and influence the development of future services provided by the Trust.
  • The Trust may seek your views on its services.
  • As a member you can stand as a Governor, to represent the views of Foundation Trust members and help shape the direction of the Trust.
  • Voting for a member to represent you on our Council of Governors.
  • The Trust can communicate directly with you, keep you up to date on the latest news and work of the Trust through our Member’s newsletter.
  • Be invited to attend events hosted by the Trust such as the Annual Members Meeting.
  • Becoming a member is a great way to demonstrate your interest in community and health issues and can be added to your CV.
  • As a member you can access a range of discounts from participating retailers through healthservicediscounts (https://healthservicediscounts.com/), giving members the same discounts as NHS staff.
