I am reaching out to share a story of resilience, hope, and determination. In 2022, our lives took an unexpected turn when my beloved mum was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer.

After a challenging journey of treatment, surgery, and unwavering determination, my mum completed her planned treatment in the summer of 2023 and we were told that the treatment was successful. Throughout this difficult period the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals were outstanding in their speed of action, attention to care and support.

To celebrate this win and show some love to Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, I've decided to take on this stupid task of trying to prepare my body to run in the Barcelona Marathon on the 10th March, 2024. Which leaves me 64 days to prepare. Maybe the New Year, New Me has gone too far this time!

It's not just about covering 42 kilometres; it's about turning miles into milestones and supporting an incredible team who supported my Mum through an incredible stressful time.
