The Choir of the Royal Military Chapel

The Choir of the Royal Military Chapel (The Guards' Chapel) is made up of 12 professional singers, whose primary duty is to lead the weekly Sunday morning service. The choir also sings at other occasions, including baptisms, weddings and memorial services for leading military, political and national figures, and services of remembrance for the seven regiments of the Household Division.

The singers are in demand with other professional choirs, as well as for opera productions nationwide, both as chorus members and in lead roles. During the Covid pandemic, the choir recorded music for a weekly Sunday podcast, broadcast the Church of England online Sunday morning service for Remembrance Sunday, and also recorded a CD of music for Remembrance entitled 'With Proud Thanksgiving'.

Much of the choir's work takes place in collaboration with the various Bands of the Household Division, both for regular and special services, as well as for concerts. More unusual projects have included a performance of Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire by soprano Natalie Raybould with musicians from the Countess of Wessex's String Orchestra and wind players from the Household Division Bands. More recently, they combined with the choir of Westminster School for a service of Choral Evensong on the eve of Armistice Day and with the Band of the Royal Yeomanry for a joint Christmas concert. In 2023, the upper voices gave a candlelit performance of Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, and members of the choir feature regularly in the Chapel's lunchtime recitals series.
