Notes:

The Insolvency Service has released this Management Information (MI) to meet stakeholder needs for these data in a timely way. This MI is not classified as Official Statistics: it has not been rigorously quality assured and may be subject to revision. Any revisions will be marked in the table with an [r]. Revisions are typically caused by a time lag between the date cases are received and the date they are added to the administrative system.

The above excludes data that are recorded in error or reclassified due to employer resubmission or which contained less than 20 proposed redundancies meaning that there was no requirement to notify.

The value for the Unique Number of Employers submitting HR1 Forms for January 2024 was incorrectly shown as 246 in the update for February. This has been corrected to 346 in this update for March.

Employers are required to notify at least 30 days before the first dismissal where 20 to 99 redundancies are proposed, and at least 45 days before the first dismissal where 100 or more redundancies are proposed.

Potential redundancies are recorded against the month in which the form is received, rather than the month for which the redundancies are proposed.

For the purpose of counting unique employers, where employers submit multiple HR1 forms, they are counted once for each month in which they submitted at least one form.
