UPDATE 16.6.21:

In line with the continued restrictions of large social gatherings due to the pandemic, the date of the Ride of Respect has now been moved to Sunday 26th September.

Another announcement to make is that organiser of this fundraiser and the RORs that have taken place before and biker community stalwart, Julia Stevenson, is very sadly stepping down from RoR due to ill health.  Her energy and enthusiasm will be hugely missed but it's time for Julia to take care of herself and put her own health first.

A personal message from Julia:

"I am stepping down from The Ride of Respect. I was going to make this announcement after Red Road Day as I wanted to see it through until the end and help raise money for our frontline workers.
I'm happy to say I found an incredible couple who would be honoured to take over from me and build the RoR.
Sadly my health is not good and I need rest. Its been a fantastic 12 years with some great friendships made along the way. I have felt humbled by your love and support and thank each and every one of you.
Your new leaders are Mick Bysh and his partner Julie Etches who will be introducing themselves to you all later today. I wish them every success in RoR.
Love and Respect
Julia Stevenson xx"

On Sunday June 27th, Julia Stevenson, founder of The Ride of Respect, would like you to help turn the roads of the UK scarlet and crimson with her Red Road Day.

Julia and her team are calling on the biking community to wear something red on this day and get together with their local  groups to hold a series of rides across the UK.

Red Road Day is all about both showing respect for all those who have died due to Covid19, and also to raise money and say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the amazing and awesome NHS and Frontline Workers who are now truly in their hour of need.  All frontline workers have faced immense pressure over the last 12 months and are only now beginning to realise the full effects on their mental health and well-being.

Each biker will be donating to Frontline19.com, a not for profit organisation that provides immediate, free and confidential counselling and therapy to these workers.  NHS staff are fighting on the frontline for us all and suffering burn out and PTSD – we can do something to help. Frontline19 was founded by psychotherapist, Claire Goodwin-Fee.

Not just bikers, trikers or scooterists but the general public can join in too by putting red ribbons on their cars, vans, trucks, lorries and cycles to show their respect.

Patches, T shirts and hoodies can be purchased from www.therideofrespect.co.uk/shop

Please make a donation today – no matter how small – and support your frontline workers.  We have all been affected by the pandemic and many of us have lost loved ones.  Support Red Road Day and Frontline19 to help those who’ve helped us.  And show a Hairy-Ass Biker you care!
