The bank was founded in 1994, the official date is April 29, 1994 - the date of issuance of the license by the National Bank of Moldova.

On March 13, 2018, EXIMBANK officially became part of the Intesa Sanpaolo group, as a result of the acquisition of 100% of Eximbank's charter capital by Intesa Sanpaolo.

JSCB "EXIMBANK" is a universal commercial bank providing quality services both for the corporate segment of the market, which is represented by companies working in various areas of the national economy throughout the republic, and for the retail segment. 

The expansion of the regional network, which represents an important channel for the distribution of services and products, allows the bank to serve clients in the cities of Bălți, Orhei, Ungheni, Hâncești and Cahul. Currently, the bank has a network of the following branches of the bank: 17 branches in the Republic and in the capital.
