About this event

Asylum seekers and refugees often have poor health status and unfavorable experiences with healthcare services. London currently has the highest number of asylum seekers relative to its population in the UK, and General Practice is encountering unique challenges in addressing their health needs.

This online workshop aims to provide a platform for the General Practice workforce in London to collaboratively identify next steps and actionable outputs which will support General Practice in delivering quality care to Asylum Seekers and Refugees. We will share some background, a case study and research on this topic area. You will then be able to collaborate to identify next steps and actions in breakout rooms. Your insights will be collected to help drive action on health policy and instigate improvements in the health system.

If you are a part of the General Practice workforce in London and work with vulnerable migrants, or if you are a system leader, we invite you to register for this workshop.

Further information, including the event link and additional details, will be provided upon completion of your registration. For any queries contact datapwa.mujong@nhs.net

The NHS Legacy and Health Equity Partnership (LHEP) is a NHS funded, multi-stakeholder programme with a focus on reducing health inequalities in screening, immunisation and access to health. This project was initiated through London leadership in response to the disproportionate impact of COVID19 on London communities and inequity in vaccine uptake. This evidence based and evidence generating programme, aimed to build on lessons from the pandemic, to strive for sustainable, innovative and impactful change in reducing health inequalities for London in partnership with communities and collaborate across organisations to unify partners on this critical agenda.
