In May 2018, Macmillan Cancer Support, held a workshop to understand the issues for primary and secondary care in supporting people living with and beyond cancer in Surrey. The result was this programme which aims to improve relationships, communication and education for primary, community and secondary care throughout Surrey. We aim to ensure patients and their carers can be seamlessly supported whilst living with and far beyond cancer.
The focus for the Macmillan funded programme is:
1. Create and provide cancer specific training to health and social care professionals throughout Surrey.
2. Build better awareness of services, improve relationships and establish networks of cancer aware professionals throughout Surrey.
What Next:
We are continuing to develop and provide training and networking opportunities throughout Surrey. If you have an idea for cancer training or networking events throughout all sectors, we would love to hear from you.
