Darlington, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland:
Neurodevelopmental Family Support Project
We are working with Tees Valley Clinical Commissioning Group to offer families living in Darlington, Middlesbrough, and Redcar and Cleveland priority access to our Telephone Support Service and Workshops.
** To book a telephone support call or a place on a workshop, please scroll down to choose a date and time that suits you from our list of Live Events. **
The Telephone Support Service offers parents emotional support, practical advice, and strategies and ideas to help you cope. This service is free and confidential, carried out over the phone with a family support adviser. Our knowledgeable family support advisers are all parent carers themselves and so can offer both a professional and personal point of view. They will listen to your concerns, give advice, and signpost you to services that can help meet your needs. There are also specialist appointments available for parents of autistic children looking for support with behaviour, sleep, communication and speech.
The Workshops are held over Zoom and on a variety of topics: Wellbeing for parent carers, Understanding Sensory Processing, Supporting your Child’s Sleep, Encouraging Positive Behaviour, Toilet Training, and Understanding the Diagnosis. You'll hear from an expert, ask questions, meet other parents and share ideas.

Quotes from parents who have used the service:
“It allowed me to talk about everything that is affecting us as a family and my son's additional needs. It gave me the opportunity to release some of the stress and have routes to explore to help my son, rather than feeling helpless. As a result I feel that I was able to engage better with my family as I was more relaxed.”
