About this event
Join us on this session with Aidan Kearney, BPS chartered coaching psychologist and the founder and director of Malleable Mind for a discussion on the Psychology of burnout.
Even the word burnout doesn’t sound good. Picture what that word means to us, maybe frazzled, exhausted, worn out. None of this is where we’d like to be. So, we can just turn it off, can’t we?
Actually, we all know it’s not that easy and in this workshop, we’ll explore what burnout is, how it relates to our internal stress response systems, what we can look for in terms of warning signs of burnout. We’ll look at elements that could feed into burnout manifesting, both internal and external contributors and we’ll then build some skills around looking after ourselves and each other to guard against burnout.
During the session we will look at:
Burnout what is it
- What do we mean by burnout
- What is stress and what does our stress reaction do
- Tools to map and gain insight into our stress causes and reactions
What feeds into burnout
- Pressure and performance
- What part does organisational culture play in burnout
- What about internal self beliefs
What can we do about burnout
- What to look out for in the self and in others
- When to take action
- What action can we take
- Managing stress – healthy conversations – healthy work cultures
