Mission and ministry have both been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Rhona and Simon will look at how we offer mission and ministry in a context of loss, suffering and lament. In conversation they will explore the nature and theology of trauma, the book of Esther and what it means to be involved in mission and ministry ‘for such a time as this.’
Rhona and Simon published Grove books at about the same time, both looking at how the church responds to difficult times. In conversation, they set out responses for mission and ministry informed by a theology of trauma and the biblical story of Esther.
Rhona Knight was a GP and a medical educator. She taught the theology of pastoral care at the Lincoln School of Theology until 2020. She is a pastoral supervisor, spiritual director and theological educator focussing on areas relating to trauma and flourishing in ministry.
Simon Taylor is the Director of Ministry Development for the Diocese of Bristol.
