About this event

Natural Resources in Cambridge - A City Portrait

Join Cambridge Doughnut for a workshop exploring how Cambridge can thrive in its natural environment. This workshop is part of our plan to create a city portrait to find out how Cambridge is performing according to both planetary and social boundaries.

During this workshop we will be starting to explore how Cambridge can thrive in its natural environment, by beginning to investigate these two questions:

  1. What ecosystem services does the nature surrounding Cambridge provide?
  2. How can the city of Cambridge provide these services?

This workshop will be concentrating on three ecosystems: tree cover, chalk rivers, and fenland.

Workshop Agenda

  • What is Doughnut Economics?
  • Choosing relevant ecosystem services
  • What can the city do to provide these? (Biomimicry)
  • Feedback

Biomimicry

Biomimicry is all about being inspired by nature to solve problems facing humanity. This can be through engineering or nature-based solutions. You can find out some more about it by watching some of the 'Think like a tree' videos below.

Find out more about our project and mission here: http://cambridgedoughnut.org.uk/

Sign up to receive the Zoom link to the event and we will see you on 10th June.
