About this event

Asylum and Human Rights Operations is one of the key business areas within the Home Office. Our strategic aims contribute to the Home Office strategic objectives: preventing terrorism and extremism; cutting crime and protecting the vulnerable; and reducing immigration and preventing abuse.

Asylum and Human Rights Operations, which sits within Customer Services, plays a vital role in supporting the economy and cultural life of the UK.

The National Asylum Intake Unit sits within Asylum and Human Rights Operations and has several locations across the UK including Croydon, Dover, Manston (near Ramsgate), and Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre (near Bedford).

The National Asylum Intake Unit is at the forefront of Asylum and Human Rights Operations priorities, often providing the first real opportunity to hear from our customers and arrange the initial support they need upon entry to the UK.

We are excited to offer this opportunity to apply to join the National Asylum Intake Unit as an Immigration Officer within one of our Kent based locations; Dover, Folkestone and Manston. These teams main focus is on clandestine arrivals, including those who arrive on a small boat across the Channel.

Attend this event to hear more about our work, the role of the National Asylum Intake Unit’s Kent operations, and to learn how to apply. We'll also seek to answer as many of your questions as possible.

You can learn more about the work of UK Visas and Immigration on the Home Office Careers website.
