About this event

The North West Civil Service Local Diversity and Inclusion network proudly present – Allyship – What does it mean?, the importance of Allyship and how you can become an Ally

Allyship is a key component to the gateway of exposing the power of Diversity & Inclusion. It is a continual investment to supporting others as well as being accountable.

Our learning, growth and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, will not happen without being challenged.

This event includes speakers from across the Civil Service who will share personal journeys and commitment to pushing the boundaries for inclusivity.

Remember; Diversity is having a seat at the table, inclusion is having a voice and belonging is having that voice heard.

Session 2: Social Mobility - Aaron Rashad (HSE)

For the past eight years, I’ve also worked as an Inspector, meeting people from all walks of life and often in quite difficult circumstances. Social mobility is an important topic for me as I grew up in care and recognise the barriers that many colleagues face when trying to develop within a professional role, including in the Civil Service. I’m proud to be part of a network community that is committed to creating a culture where everyone can reach their potential, irrespective of background, and is valued for the unique perspective their life experience brings. I believe that a diverse and equal workplace benefits all of us, and I’d like to talk about the important role of coaches, advocates, role models and self-reflectors, in building a culture where everyone can thrive.
