All profits of City Beerfest go to The Lord Mayor's Appeal
City Beerfest has become an established City tradition in aid of fantastic causes. Come and raise a glass in support of three charities championed by The Lord Mayor’s Appeal who are addressing social issues and delivering ground breaking programmes that change, and save, people’s lives - National Numeracy, MQ Mental Health Research and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Help The Lord Mayor’s Appeal to create a Better City for All that is Inclusive, Healthy, Skilled and Fair through its thought leadership initiatives Power of Inclusion, This is Me, We Can Be and City Giving Day.
By supporting City Beerfest you are enabling these charities to continue their vital work:
National Numeracy
Low numeracy is holding 3.5 million Londoners back from fulfilling their potential, by increasing vulnerability to unemployment, debt, fraud and financial exclusion. The Lord Mayor’s Appeal will be supporting a new campaign with National Numeracy ‘Every Londoner Counts’ 2023 and beyond. This initiative will improve employability and financial inclusion, by supporting thousands of Londoners in greatest need to build confidence, skills, and positive attitudes to basic numeracy through a network of 500 newly trained Numeracy Champions.
MQ Mental Health Research
MQ Mental Health Research is the UK’s leading mental health research charity. Their vision is to create a world where mental illnesses are understood, effectively treated, and eventually prevented. They do this through launching research across the translational spectrum, putting impact at the heart of all they do. In 2023, The Lord Mayor’s Appeal will enable new research to investigate the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on the nation’s mental health. It will also help to develop new recommendations on how we can support the most vulnerable in society.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
During a time when young people are facing many challenges, the life-changing experiences offered by a DofE programme have never been more vital. DofE programmes are tailored to unlock the unique skills and interests of each young person, supporting them to understand their limitless potential. The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s support has supercharged the charity’s ability to bring the DofE to young people in London and inspire them to go beyond what they believe themselves capable of, no matter their background or financial situation.
