AWP provides specialist psychology and psychiatry to eligible adults referred to the community team, provided by the HCRG Care Group.

Specialised Community Learning Disability /Autistic Spectrum Disorders

The Swindon team at Chatsworth House provide two services:

  • autism diagnostic assessments for people who do not have a learning disability. For more information about this service, including referrals, visit the Swindon Autism Diagnostic Service here
  • Specialist Learning Disability Community Health Service, providing specialist assessment, support and intervention for adults with a learning disability.

To be referred to the Specialist Learning Disability Community Health Service, we accept adults from the age of 18 years and over with a GP registered in Swindon. Our service is for adults with a diagnosed learning disability and a specialist health need that cannot be met within mainstream health services.

Horizons College

The Horizons College Therapy Team deliver a learning disability therapy service for learners funded to attend Horizons College, (Brunel Education) Swindon.

Learners are aged 16 to 25 years with a range of needs, from mild learning disabilities to profound and multiple learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The Therapy Team provide training and advice to teachers and teaching assistants to help facilitate the best learning opportunities for learners. The team provide assessments and therapeutic interventions to those with complex needs and work collaboratively with the education team.

Learners who are funded to attend Horizons College can be referred to the team.
