Our Switched On education programme delivers hands-on, curriculum based engaging activities to enrich pupils knowledge of electricity. We will come to your school and deliver a 2 hour workshop session for up to 40 pupils where they will learn all about electrical circuits and staying safe around electricity. The programme is aimed at Year 5 and Year 6 children and is delivered in partnership with STEMFirst across Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. We’re delighted to share our first Distribution System Operation (DSO) transition performance review! DSO refers to the advanced management of energy networks for a Net Zero future. This initial report details our progress in our transition Here's a glimpse of what we've achieved this year: • Strong start to RIIO-ED2: We've hit the ground running, delivering 86% of our planned initiatives and securing £9 million in net benefits. The groundwork is laid to unlock a further £200 million+! • Prioritising stakeholder needs: We've taken a flexible, place-based approach, focusing on the specific needs of each community. This includes supporting local initiatives like Manchester's Bee Network and fostering collaboration through "single conversation" meetings with local authorities. • Data-driven decision making: As the industry's most digital DNO, we're leveraging our unique Network Management System (NMS) for robust data, forecasting, and open communication. We've made our decision-making processes transparent through our open data hub and enhanced frameworks. • Innovation at our core: We're pioneering new approaches like Merit Order Management, seamlessly integrating "bolt-on" tools with NMS to accelerate innovation. A huge thank you to our incredible stakeholder community for your invaluable support and insights!
