Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for Head of Chiltern Transport Consortium.

Now in its eighteenth financial year of operation CTC currently (fy 2021/22) manage a combined fleet of 3,655 vehicles, covering in excess of 55 million miles, with 82 (fte) personnel, 6 workshops and a budget of £20.8m

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall  effective, efficient and economic management of resources required to provide the  all transport services to r the Consortium member forces’ ensuring that the fleet operates in accordance with statutory requirements and ensures that the appropriate fleet of vehicles is sustained for each forces and that downtime of vehicles is minimised.

The individual will ensure that those services from strategic policy through to local delivery meet all of the needs of the Consortium members.

You will need to have the personal qualities to continue to manage long term relationships both with the consortium forces and PCCs but also through the management of an effective supply chain.

You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop your staff based in different geographic locations and have the energy and technical knowledge to continue to enhance and improve the Consortium so that it remains at the forefront of national policing delivery.

You will be responsible for development of solutions to meet the needs of the shared service members through best use of technology.

You will be responsible for managing the Consortium budget. You will also ensure that the consortium maximises value for money through continually considering all aspects of service delivery, including  out-sourcing of appropriate parts of the service to private sector organisations as appropriate, developing specifications for service, contracts and tender evaluations, production, publishing, implementation and maintenance of CTC operational core business policies and procedures.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
