Consultation has concluded

We are consulting on proposals that will change day support in adult social care. Day support includes activities, services and day centres for adults who need care and support.

The way we have been able to offer day support has changed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the pandemic continuing to impact how we can offer services; we are thinking about what day support should look like when the pandemic ends. At the same time, like all other councils we are facing significant financial pressures. We are changing some of our services as a result of this. We want your views on how day support should change in future.

We are consulting on proposals to make changes to the following day support services:

  • Riverside day service
  • Physical Disability Day Opportunities
  • Pritchard’s Road day service
  • Russia Lane day service
  • Sundial Centre
  • Sonali Gardens
  • Create day service

While we want to make changes to day support for everyone, the most immediate and significant proposals are that Riverside day service, Physical Disability Day Opportunities and Pritchard’s Road day service do not reopen and fully close on 31 March 2021.

The proposals we are consulting on will impact people using day support services in Tower Hamlets, but particularly anyone recieving support from the above services.

We want to hear what you think about proposals. The consultation will run from Monday 9 November 2020 to Monday 4 January 2021.

All views from this consultation will be presented to the Mayor and Cabinet.
