Data Agreements

For primary care viral surveillance during the 2023-24 flu season, UK Health Security Agency has asked Saving Lives (Registered charity 1144855) to act on behalf of UKHSA (the controller) to take online kit orders from patients for test kits, send test kits to patients and text them the test results. Saving Lives (the processor) has subcontracted MedDX to send test kits to patients. Patients will request their kits using the TakeATestUK.com website which is owned by Saving Lives. They will need to provide personal details for the kit delivery and for the results to be texted back to them. The will also be asked if they are happy to answer some additional epidemiological questions. Data will not be held by MedDX or TakeATestUK.com and will only be held by Saving Lives for a period necessary to fulfil their role, as decided by UKHSA. All data will be managed and stored in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.

Throughout this process, Saving Lives is only able to collect and process data on the written instruction of UKHSA under the Data Processing Agreement that is in place.
