Our timeline is the one and only student finance timeline that includes everything you need to know! We’ve included all the dates that matter to you, such as your UCAS deadlines and A-Level Exams.
September 2023 to December 2023
5 September 2023: UCAS Applications open!
Completed UCAS Undergraduate applications can be sent to UCAS. All sections must be complete, the reference added, and the application fee paid.
January 2024 to March 2024
31 January 2024 at 18:00: UCAS Deadline for most undergraduate and conservatoire undergraduate dance, drama, or musical theatre courses.
Applications can be sent after this, but providers cannot guarantee they’ll give it equal consideration. For more info.
28 February 2024: UCAS Extra opens
If you’ve used all five choices and not holding an offer, you can add another choice using Extra.
13 March 2024: Student finance applications open!
Full-time undergraduate applications are now open, apply now to avoid any delays in getting your money sorted. Apply now!
April 2024 to June 2024
May 2024: Part-time undergraduate applications open!
Part-time undergraduate applications are expected to open from the end of May 2024.
13 May 2024: A-Level Exams start!
A-Level exams start from Monday 13 May 2024. Before you start your exams, make sure to apply for student finance before the new student deadline!
16 May 2024: UCAS decisions start coming back!
Decisions usually start coming back from universities or colleges if you made your application on or before 31 January 2024. For more info.
17 May 2024: Student finance deadline!
Friday 17 May 2024 is the deadline for new full-time undergraduate students to apply for your student finance to make sure you get your money sorted before the start of your course.
Remember you don’t need a confirmed place at uni or college to make your application!
6 June 2024: UCAS Reply date
If you received your last decision on or before 16 May 2024, your reply date is 6 June 2024 (Except if you’re using Extra to find a place). For more info.
21 June 2024: Student finance deadline!
Friday 21 June 2024 is the deadline for continuing full-time undergraduate students to re-apply for your student finance to make sure you get your money sorted before the start of your course.
28 June 2024: A-Level Exams finish!
A-Level exams finish on Friday 28 June 2024! If you forgot to apply for student finance, you should do this as soon as possible.
July 2024 to September 2024
4 July 2024: UCAS Extra closes
5 July 2024: UCAS Clearing opens!
Clearing opens, and vacancies are shown in the UCAS search tool. For more info.
17 July 2024: University decisions due for applications submitted by 30 June
Decisions usually start coming back from universities or colleges if you made your application on or before 30 June 2024. For more info.
24 July 2024: UCAS Reply date
If you received your last decision on or before 17 July 2024, your reply date is 24 July 2024 (including Extra choices) For more info.
15 August 2024: A-Level Results Day
Good luck for your A-Level Results Day! If your university or college choice changes, remember to update your student finance application. For more info.
1 September 2024: Start of the new academic year
The 2024 to 2025 academic year starts. Good luck for the start of your course!
