Chair

Welcome

Chris Martin, CEO of Social Enterprise Scotland

This is an exciting time for Social Enterprise Scotland as we deliver the Single Enhanced Intermediary for social enterprises in Scotland. According to the last Social Enterprise in Scotland Census, there are more than 6,000 social enterprises, creating almost 90,000 full-time equivalent jobs and – despite the disruption caused by the pandemic – they continue to grow in size and number. Social Enterprise Scotland recognises the responsibility to grow a strong, inclusive voice for all social enterprises throughout the length and breadth of the country. I have had the privilege of spending time travelling around the country to listen to social enterprises and identify their articulated needs to help frame and develop our functions and service provision to ensure we have a unique value proposition for our members.

Our work is supported by a dynamic and diverse board, who bring their knowledge, experience and strategic vision from a variety of sectors, united by their passion to support Scottish social enterprises to thrive. We are now looking for a new Chair to join us at this critical time for the organisation. Concurrently with this appointment, we are also recruiting for a number of new Directors to join our board, so please get in touch if you feel you can serve the social enterprise community in Scotland in this regard.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Chris Martin
