PDSCP - Safer Recruitment
Outline
The aim of this course is to give participants an awareness and understanding of offender behaviour, identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people and consider their own policies and practices.

Description
If you have attended this course within the last three years, please attend the half day Safer Recruitment Refresher instead.
Outcomes
- Understand the grooming process used by predators in the context of safer recruitment and working practice.
- Identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
- Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
- Review their own policies and practices with a view to making them safer
- Help participants begin to review their own policies and practices in recruitment with a view to making them safer
