PDSCP - Multi-Agency Working Together in Safeguarding

If you have completed a Level 3 safeguarding course in the past you might find the Working Together in Safeguarding UPDATE course more suitable. Please talk to your line manager if you are in any doubt, to make sure you are booking onto the correct course.
Description
Outcomes
- Understand the child protection processes from the perspectives of the child and the family and how it impacts on them
- Describe what to do when there are concerns about a child’s welfare in complex and challenging situations
- Gain an awareness of the continuum of need threshold document and escalation process
- Increase confidence in own roles and responsibilities in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Describe good information sharing practice and issues of consent
- Explain the importance of appropriate communication with children, families and professionals
You will have covered the areas listed below from Level 2 training you have accessed in your own organisation or through multi-agency training and you will have a basic knowledge of safeguarding issues, covering as a minimum:
- Indicators of different types of abuse and neglect
- Responding to and recording disclosures
- What the MASH/ChADs is and basic understanding of the referral process
- Safer working practice
