Community health services – now finished until later in 2024

Get health advice, your blood pressure checked, or your cholesterol monitored at our Community Health Services clinics in Newcastle. See our timetable below – no appointment needed, just turn up!

We work on behalf of all GP practices in Newcastle providing health services in your community from our Community Health Bus and other locations in the city. The service has been developed and delivered in partnership with the School of Pharmacy from Newcastle University.

All health clinics are now from our new health bus so keep an eye out for it at any of our venues below.

what services are available from the community health team?

You can get a health check, your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, and get healthcare advice from trained and experienced professionals including stopping smoking services, information on reducing your alcohol consumption or managing diabetes. We can also carry out walking stick ferrule replacement – we have a stock of rubber ferrules that can be fitted to the end of walking sticks and crutches. These are free of charge and provided by Newcastle City Loan Equipment Service.

do I need an appointment?

No, you don’t need an appointment, just turn up when the clinic is open (see the timetable for locations and times above) and you’ll be seen by one of our team. You may be given an appointment by your GP if you can be seen more quickly at our clinic.

who can come to the community health services?

Anyone aged 18 or over can visit one of our health clinics, you don’t need to have ID, proof of address or be registered with a GP. We don’t provide health services for children at the moment, but hope to do so soon.
