| | | After a process of extensive scrutiny, Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Panel unanimously supported my precept proposal for 2023/24, which will raise the average band D property precept by £1.87 per month or £22.49 per annum, which is a 7.75% increase. In setting the precept, I consider an array of factors, including the Chief Constable’s future resourcing requirement, Police Officer recruitment targets, the level of reserves, future investment requirements for critical infrastructure, efficiency and productivity plans, in addition to feedback from residents of the Dyfed-Powys area. Thanks to all those who took part in the consultation. Read more about the precept setting process here. |

| Ar ôl proses graffu fanwl, cefnogodd Panel Heddlu a Throseddu Dyfed Powys yn unfrydol fy nghynnig praesept ar gyfer 2023/24, a fydd yn codi praesept eiddo band D ar gyfartaledd o £1.87 y mis neu £22.49 y flwyddyn, sef cynnydd o 7.75%. Wrth osod y praesept, rwy’n ystyried amrywiaeth o ffactorau, gan gynnwys gofyniad adnoddau’r Prif Gwnstabl yn y dyfodol, targedau recriwtio Swyddogion Heddlu, lefel y cronfeydd wrth gefn, gofynion buddsoddi yn y dyfodol ar gyfer seilwaith hanfodol, cynlluniau effeithlonrwydd a chynhyrchiant, yn ogystal ag adborth gan drigolion y ardal Dyfed-Powys. Diolch i bawb a gymerodd ran yn yr ymgynghoriad. Darllenwch fwy am y broses gosod praesept yma. |

| | | Earlier in January I spent a day in Powys with the Rural Crime team. Powys is the largest county in Wales, and is probably the most rural of all areas within the Force area, with valleys and mountains, including most of Brecon Beacons National Park. This can be very challenging when it comes to policing the area. For advice and information on Dyfed-Powys’ Rural Crime Team, click here. You can also follow the team on Twitter @DPPRural . |
| Yn gynharach ym mis Ionawr treuliais ddiwrnod ym Mhowys gyda'r tîm Troseddau Cefn Gwlad. Powys yw sir fwyaf Cymru, ac mae'n debyg mai dyma'r ardal fwyaf gwledig o'r holl ardaloedd o fewn ardal yr Heddlu, gyda dyffrynnoedd a mynyddoedd, gan gynnwys y rhan fwyaf o Barc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog. Gall hyn fod yn heriol iawn o ran plismona’r ardal. Am gwybodaeth am Dîm Troseddau Gwledig Dyfed-Powys, cliciwch yma. Gallwch hefyd ddilyn y tîm ar Twitter @DPPRural |

| | “As a father-of-five it’s important to me that all young people have opportunities to shape our public services.” | Youth survey launchedWe want to hear from 14 to 24-year-olds about their experiences of issues such as mental health, being a victim or witness of crime, youth offending and substance misuse. ‘Y Sgwrs’ (The Conversation) is an online survey that asks teenagers and young adults what works, what doesn’t and how things might be improved. Professionals working with young people, including volunteers such as youth workers, are also invited to contribute. Results from the survey will be shared with the Chief Constable and decision-makers from local councils and youth organisations at our Youth Conference later this year. Then it will be up to us as leaders to commit to action, and pledge what we will do to improve our services to young people. Closing date is Friday, 31st March. | |

| “A minnau’n dad i bump, mae’n bwysig i mi fod pob unigolyn ifanc yn cael cyfleoedd i lunio ein gwasanaethau cyhoeddus.” | | Arolwg wedi'i lansioRydym eisiau clywed gan bobl 14 – 24 am eu profiadau o faterion megis iechyd meddwl, bod yn ddioddefydd trosedd neu’n dyst i drosedd, troseddau ieuenctid a chamddefnyddio sylweddau. Mae ‘Y Sgwrs’ yn arolwg ar-lein sy’n gofyn i bobl yn eu harddegau ac oedolion ifainc i esbonio’r hyn sy’n gweithio a’r hyn nad yw’n gweithio, a sut y gellid gwella pethau. Gwahoddir gweithwyr proffesiynol sy’n gweithio gyda phobl ifainc, gan gynnwys gwirfoddolwyr megis gweithwyr ieuenctid, i gyfrannu hefyd. Caiff canlyniadau’r arolwg eu rhannu â’r Prif Gwnstabl a gwneuthurwyr penderfyniadau o gynghorau lleol a sefydliadau ieuenctid yn ein Cynhadledd Ieuenctid yn ddiweddarach eleni. Wedyn bydd yn rhaid i ni fel arweinwyr ymrwymo i weithredu, a dweud beth fyddwn ni’n ei wneud i wella ein gwasanaethau ar gyfer pobl ifainc. Y dyddiad cau yw dydd Gwener 31 Mawrth. | |

| | | Drugs, domestic abuse and how reports of misconduct are dealt with were among the questions asked at our latest Policing Accountability Board meeting. I attended Pembrokeshire College on Friday, where myself and the Chief Constable answered questions from students, councillors and the public. The meetings, which take place every three months in one of the four counties in Dyfed-Powys, are an important and public way in which I show how I hold the force to account. It's also a great opportunity for members of the public to question me and raise concerns. |
| Roedd cyffuriau, cam-drin domestig a sut yr ymdrinnir ag adroddiadau o gamymddwyn, ymhlith rhai o’r cwestiynau a ofynnwyd yn ein cyfarfod Bwrdd Atebolrwydd Plismona diweddar. Mynychais Coleg Sir Benfro ddydd Gwener, lle bu i mi a’r Prif Gwnstabl ymateb i gwestiynau gan fyfyrwyr, cynghorwyr a’r cyhoedd. Mae'r cyfarfodydd, sy'n cael eu cynnal bob tri mis yn un o'r pedwar sir yn Nyfed-Powys, yn ffordd bwysig a chyhoeddus i ddangos sut rydw i'n dwyn yr heddlu i gyfrif. Mae hefyd yn gyfle gwych i aelodau'r cyhoedd fy holi a nodi pryderon. |
