Suicide First Aid: Children and Young People (SFA: CYP)

Brief: The programme teaches knowledge and skills needed to identify a Child or Young Person (CYP) who may be thinking about suicide with the opportunity to build confidence through practise to competently facilitate a Suicide First Aid intervention.

Aim: Learn the skills and knowledge needed to identify a child or young person who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide-safety as a first aid approach. Learn and practice suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting.

Please note:
- This course is endorsed by UK ‘Skills for Health’ framework
- Optional: following attendance, learners have the option to enrol for the City and Guilds level 4 accredited unit of learning for £93.50. Certification for this would be upon completion of a written assignment towards this unit of learning.

Facilitator: Approved SFA (Suicide First Aid) instructor from Joint Training.

Audience: Staff and volunteers who support or who have a good knowledge of CYP experiencing thoughts around suicide, including educative staff
