Aims to: Familiarise staff with the implications of the Appropriate Adult role as required in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and associated codes of practice. This is in relation to detention, questioning and identification of adults with mental health difficulties or learning disabilities in police custody.
This is a lecture style event with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss.

- State legislation requirements of PACE Act
- List duties of an Appropriate Adult
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of supporting a person in interview
- Understand how knowledge can be applied in practice
