Story
Bury St Edmunds Womens Refuge is much more than a place of safety for women and their children fleeing domestic abuse (DA). We provide holistic support and friendship to help our residents and outreach clients recover from the trauma of DA to help restore health and well-being.
Our vehicle is essential in delivering our services providing transport free of charge for our users to: counselling and therapy groups; health and legal appointments; childrens and family recreational event and visits; and to help move residents to their new homes when ready for independent living, and much more.
Our poor old minibus has served us well but is now at the end of its useful life and we need to replace it. We are hoping to raise sufficient funds to buy a 7 seat multi-purpose vehicle in very good condition for the benefit of our residents and outreach clients.
Our funding target is £20,000; any help you give us towards reaching that target is very much appreciated. Thank you.
