My Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Fundraising page, in Memory of my son Jody 🌻
On June 22cnd 2022 I will be hiking up Ben Nevis to raise money for The Rob Burrow Motor Neurone Disease Centre in Leeds.
My darling son Jody died just over 4 years ago of this vile horrible disease. He was just 38 years old. He was such a loving and adventurous young man with so much more life to live.
MND stole his life.
To watch anyone die of MND is the stuff of nightmares. To watch your child die of MND breaks your heart. Jody was an incredibly strong and courageous young man, who fought the hardest battle of his life and yet maintained his incredible sense of wit and humour throughout. My son was the bravest person I have ever ever known.. and I miss him every moment of every day that passes.
I’ve never hiked up a mountain before and yet I decided on the highest one in the British Isles, as I felt that even though it will be a very very tough challenge for me, it will be absolutely nothing in comparison to the daily battles Jody had to face during the biggest fight of his life, devastatingly, a battle he knew he would lose, against MND.
Thank you for reading my Introduction and I hope to write more as my training continues. I am so excited to be Fundraising for this amazing MND Centre planned, as I really wish something like this had been available for Jody and myself at the worst time of our life 💛🌻🕊
