Public Health

We are delighted that you are interested in joining our Public Health team!

We love people who are passionate, inspired, and motivated to work collaboratively to help build the foundations of wellbeing in a borough with some of the highest levels of social deprivation and health inequalities in the country.

We see public health as being about working with communities to protect and improve health and wellbeing of every resident of Tower Hamlets. It involves both understanding the state of health of people in Tower Hamlets and what really matters to them about their health. These insights enable us to work together across the council, with partners and with residents to build community-led, evidence based and innovative programmes to improve health and address health inequalities in the borough.

Tower Hamlets is an exciting and fulfilling place to work in Public Health. You will join a team with an impressive portfolio of innovative public health work that is recognised at London and national levels. We have a strong track record of achievement, excellent partnership working and a strong reputation for high quality analytical public health delivery.

We are well established as a training location. We welcome and support Public Health Speciality trainees, Academic Foundation Programme Trainees (F2s), Sports and Exercise Medicine Speciality trainees and a new cohort of Public Health Apprentices. We also enjoy strong links with our local NHS and our colleagues in local universities. The Royal London Hospital and Queen Mary University are in the borough.

If you are up for developing yourself as public health leader, and making a difference with some of the most diverse and dynamic communities in the country, Tower Hamlets offers you exceptional opportunities.

We look forward to your application!
