We can’t stop growing – meet our Manchester team

Our top priority is continuing to offer a first-class service to all our clients and our referrers. To meet an ever-increasing demand, we’ve taken on more team members and we’re opening new offices across the country.

We’re delighted to introduce new members who will be working out of our new Manchester office. In this Q & A article they’ll be talking to us about why they’ve chosen to join IDR law.

Rebecca Everitt joins us in December as a paralegal.

Why did you want to join the firm?

I did a Law degree then left university and covid hit! I’ve been working as a legal PA in probate litigation. I’m very excited to be joining IDR law. I’d heard through word of mouth that it’s a great place to work. I know someone who works there and asked them if they were happy: that’s the most important question for me – you can move to any firm in the world but if you’re not happy, what’s the point? I was also really impressed by all the resources Martin has built up and the support the firm offers.

The firm’s career pathway is highly developed to help employees progress. I’m joining as a paralegal but plan to become a solicitor in the future, so I’ll be studying my LPC part-time too. I’m so excited about joining. I know the first week is going to be pretty intense, but I can’t wait to get stuck in and get involved with cases.

Lindsay Gibson will be joining us in a couple of weeks as our full time Head of Marketing.

Why did you want to join the firm?

I’ve worked for 15 years in marketing, planning, and strategy, across many sectors. Of all the industries I’ve been involved in, I find Law the most interesting, especially the area of contentious probate.

Martin and I were recently speaking at the same event and had a chat afterwards. I was instantly intrigued by IDR Law and the ways in which Martin has grown the business. I love the transparency of the firm and started having ideas straight away of how I could develop their marketing and elevate IDR Law even more. I wasn’t actually looking for a job but when Martin approached me and offered the position, I just couldn’t refuse it!

I love all the innovations – such as the IDR Network (IDR N) and the IDR University (IDR U) –that Martin is pulling together to support referrers, the IDR team, and their clients. I’m excited to be joining IDR Law this month and look forward to driving the marketing strategy forward both internally and externally.

Georgina Coates, solicitor, joined us in September.

Why did you want to join the firm?

IDR Law came up in a few conversations I was having, and it seemed really interesting. After an initial interview with Martin [Holdsworth]and Richard [Thomas] I felt like IDR Law was the right place for me. I was drawn in by the firm’s ethos and the level of support offered. I really liked Martin and Richard’s outlook and the fact that everyone can define their own success.

How do you feel now you’ve been there a little while?

The work is so interesting and varied and presents new challenges, which is key for development as a newly qualified solicitor. I am constantly learning and work within a helpful team who have time for me and confidence in me. I’m really enjoying it.

Kirsty McNulty recently joined the IDR Law team as an Associate.

Why did you want to join the firm?

I’d been recommended to Martin, who sent me some IDR Law material to read through. To be honest I thought to myself, what’s the catch?  Turns out there isn’t one! Martin went through the business model with me, showed me the figures, etc, and I couldn’t believe how well it performed. I appreciated his transparency and loved the fact that IDR Law is so progressive and futuristic. I knew I wanted to work with IDR straight away!

How do you feel now you’ve been there a little while?

I joined IDR on the 11th October and can honestly say the firm is everything I expected and more. The office space in Manchester is stunning and the whole team have been so welcoming.

I have been impressed with the quality of the work passed to me and the volume in which such work is available through referrers. It’s very clear the firm is going to continue to grow in the coming years and this is down to the excellent reputation Martin has created.

Martin Holdsworth comments: “Our vision of IDR Law includes the desire to have a team that is happy, healthy and successful in their own definition. Our new Manchester office is an extension of that philosophy – it provides a fantastic work/gathering place for a new group of talent based in and around Manchester who will have the choice to work from home as well as the office (as the IDR Law team have always done). Kirsty and Georgina are already excellent additions to the IDR Law team and I’ve no doubt that Rebecca and Lindsay will be too!”
