About this event

When supporting survivors of modern slavery with language barriers, knowing how to work with interpreters effectively is essential to be able to provide the right support.

Join us for an informative 1 hour session with the Helen Bamber Foundation aimed at those working in the anti-slavery sector supporting survivors, where you will gain insight into the crucial role interpreters play in facilitating communication and ensuring accurate understanding between survivors and service providers, learn practical tips and strategies for establishing effective communication channels with interpreters, and understand the common challenges and barriers encountered when working with interpreters, such as confidentiality concerns, language limitations, and power dynamics, and identify strategies for addressing these issues proactively.

This session is online only, hosted by the Human Trafficking Foundation as part of a series of sessions aiming to build the capacity of the modern slavery sector.

A Zoom link will be sent to confirmed attendees.
